Storm damage is disruptive. At Helios Roofing, we make the insurance process clear, documented, and efficient. So you get a code-compliant repair or replacement with minimal hassle. You can kick back and relax while we take care of all the paperwork and deal directly with your insurance company.
What Damage Could Look Like
Possibly a carousel or image scroller with missing shingles, creasing shingles, popped screws on metal roof. Hail hits
How We Help
- Free Inspection Report – Majority of the time homeowners are unaware of any damage on their property. We will inspect your home for free and send you the report.
- Fast Tarp & Dry-In – Emergency protection to prevent further damage, with photos and invoices for your file.
- Thorough Documentation – Date-stamped photos, measurements, test squares, and itemized findings.
- Adjuster Coordination – On-site meeting to review damages, codes, and manufacturer requirements.
- Clear Scope & Pricing – Transparent line-items aligned to the approved estimate and local codes.
- Permit & Code Compliance – Drip edge, ice & water shield, ventilation balance, flashing upgrades as required.
- Warranty Closeout – Final inspection, as-built photos, and manufacturer/workmanship warranties.
Step-by-Step: Quote • Claim • Build
1) Quote (Inspection & Proposal)
- Free assessment with photos, measurements, and a written condition report.
- If damage appears storm-related, we prepare a claim-ready packet (before/after tarp photos, elevations, hail/wind indicators).
- You receive good / better / best system options with timelines and materials.
Your part: Scheduling an initial inspection with us and having your insurance policy details.
2) Claim (Adjuster & Approval)
- We meet your adjuster on-site to review damages, code requirements, and safety considerations.
- If the initial estimate misses required items (e.g., step flashing, starter, drip edge, ventilation), we submit supplements with code citations and manufacturer specs.
- You’ll see all revisions and approvals so there are no surprises.
3) Build (Installation & Finalization)
- We schedule around your life or operations, protect landscaping, and maintain a clean site.
- Install to manufacturer specifications: proper underlayments, flashings, fasteners, and ventilation balance.
- Daily cleanup and magnet sweeps; final inspection when complete.
- We submit completion documentation to your carrier.
What’s Typically Covered (and What’s Not)
- Usually covered: Sudden, accidental storm damage (wind, hail), minus your deductible.
- Usually not covered: Wear/tear, age-related deterioration, prior improper installs, or pre-existing leaks.
- Upgrades & code items: Often required for permits/warranties; coverage depends on your Ordinance & Law and policy terms.
We’ll explain options either way, but only your insurer determines coverage.
Transparent Pricing & Supplements
Insurance estimates are formatted for carriers; they don’t always include every code-mandated detail. Our team:
- Aligns line-items to current code and manufacturer specs
- Provides photos, code references, and SKUs for any supplements
- Keeps you updated on changes before work proceeds
FAQs
What’s the difference between ACV and RCV?
- ACV (Actual Cash Value): Depreciated amount paid first.
- RCV (Replacement Cost Value): Full approved cost; the remaining recoverable depreciation is released after completion and invoicing, per your policy.
How long does the process take?
Initial Inspection: same or next day. Adjuster visit: typically 3–7 days. Roof build: 1–3 days for most homes once approved and scheduled (weather permitting).
Will filing a claim raise my rates?
Policies vary. In the case of filing a claim for your roof for wind or hail damage this is considered an “Act of God” which is not held against you personally. If you were to file a claim for something considered preventable (such as not cutting down a rotten tree next to your home) it could affect your rates.
Do you handle gutters, skylights, and ventilation?
Yes—ideal to address during the roof scope for a complete, warrantied system.
